2020: Laura Dern Energy

The new year is almost upon us, and with the endless parties (and inevitable hangovers) come the promises to ourselves that we'll be better... or at least try to be better next year. Yep, I'm putting my 2020 New Year's Resolution into action.

A good friend of mine proclaimed that we should all aim to embody what she calls "Laura Dern Energy." If you don't know Laura Dern, she is perhaps the most underrated actress of my parents' generation. She plays bossy, bold women who ask for everything and apologize for nothing. She is fierce, and loud, and sometimes cold. But her conviction is infectious. So, in attempt to better myself next year, I asked myself, "What Would Laura Dern Do?" The answer I found was simple. Laura Dern would take this art thing by its horns, and do the damn thing.

Which is how I got here -- blogging, and putting my art up for the world to look at, and hopefully buy. The second half of 2019 dropped incredible opportunities in my lap, and I'm proud to have my updated portfolio on display. Through my latest projects, I have learned about working with clients, the importance of editing, editing, editing! and how incredibly small the world really is. I'm excited to bring some big projects to you in 2020, and I hope you'll check in with this blog every once in a while to see what I've been up to.
